FSTPI Recommend These Three Things to the Government
JAKARTA, 15 MARET 2017 — The Stop TB Partnership Indonesia Forum (FSTPI) in commemoration of World TB Day 2017 which falls on March 24 & nbsp; recommends three important matters to the government. The three points of recommendation are, firstly, that all ministries and agencies are involved in TB prevention efforts.
Secondly, the need to issue a presidential regulation on TB control in Indonesia as the legal basis for the involvement of all parties; and the third fixing and setting standards for TB management in the industrial, CSO and healthcare sectors so as to produce quality TB control in Indonesia.
The FSTPI Recommendation was presented at the "launch of the Partnership in TB Control in Indonesia 2017" held at the Vice Presidential Palace on Wednesday (15/3/2017), on the cooperation of FSTPI-assisted by LKNU, CCPHI, and Jhonson and Jhonson-with the Vice-Palace protocol President. Vice President Jusuf Kalla attended the event.
Three important recommendations submitted to the government were read by the Chairman of FSTPI Arifin Panigoro and handed symbolically to Vice President Jusuf Kalla.
In his introduction, Arifin said that the homework of the nation of Indonesia in tackling this TB is still very large. "Estimates, in Indonesia there are currently 395 new TB cases per 100,000 population per year with 40 deaths due to TB per 100,000 population. If Indonesia's population of 250 million people, in 1 year there are 1 million new TB cases with 100,000 deaths due to TB, "he said..
In fact, according to the Ministry of Health, Arifin said, Indonesia can only find 32 percent of the target of 1 million cases of TB. "That means there are still about 680,000 cases of TB that have not been found per year," he said.
Therefore, this TB prevention work should no longer rely solely on one side. However, all parties must participate and take part.
Arifin stressed the importance of issuing a presidential regulation on TB so that there is a legal basis for all parties to immediately maximally take part in TB control.
”If other infectious diseases, such as HIV / AIDS, are governed by a presidential regulation, TB control should also be regulated in a perpres considering Indonesia is ranked second only to India's largest TB case in the world, "he said..
With the rules of the perpres, Arifin believes, the role of each party will be more clear and maximized.
The formulation of the FSTPI recommendation submitted to the government, Arifin said, is the result of discussions and workshops held from August to December 2016 involving all sectors called "three stoves of warfare", ie government, CSO, and industry sectors supported health care providers.
On the occasion, Arifin asked the Vice President to give a briefing to all the audience so that TB control in Indonesia can be maximized, as well as the attention of all parties in the handling of HIV / AIDS or drugs.
“We ask the Vice President to give directions to all of us, especially for ministries and government agencies in TB prevention efforts in Indonesia, "said Arifin Panigoro.
Joint Commitment
On the occasion, the Vice President appreciated the initiative for the launching of this partnership. The Vice President appreciates the efforts of all parties, especially FSTPI, which is aggressively assisting the government in this case the Ministry of Health and working with all parties to tackle TB in Indonesia.
