The 5th FP/RH – Healthy Mimika a Partnership between Freeport Indonesia and Amungme and Kamoro Community Development Institute (LPMAK)
The 5th FP/RH Roundtable was organized by CCPHI in collaboration with Cipta Cara Padu Foundation (YCCP) ( http://www.yccp-indonesia.org/) on Tuesday, 16th June 2015. Freeport Indonesia (FI) hosted the event, featuring “Healthy Mimika” program. This program has been a partnership of FI and Amungme and Kamoro Community Development Institute (LPMAK).
YCCP Executive Director Inne Silviane moderated the lively discussions following the presentation by LPMAK and its partners. There were 36 participants attending this event, representing 6 companies and 8 NGOs.
FI ( http://ptfi.co.id/id), a subsidiary of Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc., is a multinational mining company that produces concentrates of copper, gold and silver. FI operates in the highlands of Mimika Regency, Papua Province. LPMAK ( http://www.lpmak.org/) is a not-for-profit entity that manages funds provided by FI aimed at community development of Mimika. The main beneficiaries of LPMAK programs on health, education, economic development, cultural and religious partnerships are the 2 major indigenous tribes (Amungme and Kamoro) and 5 minor ones (Damal, Dani, Moni, Nduga, and Mee/Ekari) within the regency.
