The 37th Partnership Forum: Community Tangguh Banjir (Flood Resilience) Program

CCPHI and Social Trust Fund (STF) UIN Syarif Hidayatullah with Zurich Insurance Indonesia (ZII) and Indonesian Red Cross (Palang Merah Indonesia/PMI) facilitated the 37th Partnership Forum on Tuesday, 20 February 2018, at PMI office, Jakarta. This Forum presents a partnership between the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), and Zurich Insurance Indonesia (ZII) with the theme "Community Tangguh Banjir (Flood Resilience) Program".
This partnership program is aimed to implement an effective community-based program to enhance community resilience to flooding. The program was conducted in 21 villages in 7 districts/cities in 4 provinces and 3 watersheds in Java, i.e. Ciliwung, Citarum and Bengawan Solo.
This partnership program is a global partnership implementation agreed in 2008 by the parties: Zurich and IFRC with programs in four countries, including: Nepal, Peru, Mexico and Indonesia. Zurich Insurance Indonesia (ZII - www.zurich.co.id) which is a general insurance company, part of Zurich Insurance Group headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland. ZII was established in 1991, and currently has offices in Jakarta, Tangerang, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Denpasar. For the Indonesia program, ZII worked with PMI who is a member of IFRC since October 1950. IFRC (IFRC - http://www.ifrc.org/) is the worldwide humanitarian and aid organization that reaches 160 million people each year through its 190 member National Societies. IFRC acts before, during and after disasters and health emergencies to meet the needs and improve the lives of vulnerable people.
This Partnership Forum was attended by 45 participants from 11 companies, 10 NGOs, 1 educational institution. Sri Hidayati – Program Manager of Bungkesmas STF UIN Jakarta was the moderator of the discussion ( http://www.stfuinjakarta.org/).
