The 33rd Partnership Forum: “Universal Salt Iodization Program in East Java: A Partnership between Micronutrient Initiative and Sumatraco Langgeng Makmur.
CCPHI, in collaboration with Transformation and Micronutrient Initiative facilitated the 33rd Partnership Forum on Tuesday, 30 November 2016. This event was hosted by the Ford Foundation, featuring Universal Salt Iodization Program in East Java (USI) a partnership between Micronutrient Indonesia (MI) and Sumatraco Langgeng Makmur.
In this Partnership Forum, both partners explained the program for the achievement of USI, through the revitalization of iodized salt production equipment for large scale industry.
This Partnership Forum was attended by 50 participants of the 10 companies, 19 NGOs, 1 educational institution and 1 donor agency. Fardila Astari from Center for Public Policy Transformation (www.transformasi.org) facilitated the discussion following the presentation.
Micronutrient Initiative (www.micronutrient.org) is a non-profit organization that provides affordable and innovative solutions to end micronutrient deficiencies especially for women and children. Sumatraco Langgeng Makmur is one of the largest manufacturers of iodized salt in Indonesia, which is headquartered in Surabaya, East Java.
