EBF - 8 " Newspaper in Education "
Company-Community Partnerships for Health in Indonesia (CCPHI) held the eighth Education and Business Forum (EBF) on 27 November 2013 featuring “Newspaper in Education” program. Hosted by Chevron and moderated by Hotben SItumorang from Indonesian Teachers’ Association (www.igi.or.id), the event was attended by 48 participants from 7 companies, 13 NGOs and 2 educational institutions.
Chevron partnered withThe Jakarta Post Foundation / TJPF to implement the Newspaper in Education program (NIE). NIE program is a global program that was initiated by the Washington Post and has been adopted by more than 200 media companies' worldwide. TJPF and Chevron have been implementing NIE program since 2007 aiming to increase reading habit and confidence level among junior and high school students in speaking English. Under this partnership, NIE program has trained 45,000 students from 364 schools in 25 cities in 11 provinces (Java, Sumatera and Sulawesi).

While, The Jakarta Post Foundation is a non-profit organization that manages the corporate social responsibility program of the publishing company of The Jakarta Post newspaper (www.thejakartapost.com). TJPF main objective is to strive for children's rights to receive the best education.
