A Partnership between CCPHI & Paramadina to Enrich Partnership Study in Indonesia through EPSP
Jakarta 14 Desember 2017 - Both CCPHI and Paramadina University attended together in the 6th Paramadina Research & Community Service Day held on Thursday, 14 Dec 2017 at Nurcholish Madjid Auditorium – Paramadina University Jl. Gatot Subroto Kav. 97 Mampang, Jakarta. This event features special topics on partnership in a panel discussion format on various case studies. Some of these case studies were generated from the Executive Program for Sustainable Partnership (EPSP) program.
Since November 2014, CCPHI and Paramadina University have been working closely on building an executive partnership program at Post Graduate level in the form of Executive Program for Sustainable Partnership (EPSP). Until 2017, EPSP has produced six batches, and the program is still ongoing.
The 6th Research Day and Community Services of Paramadina University presented a special topic of partnership to address the globalization challenges to reach Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including inclusive and multi-sectoral business partnerships. The partnership is based on principles of good governance, shared value and sustainability. The presentations of research during Research Day and Community Service were conducted by multi-sector parties, based on how to empower the communities to increase their potential and resources to reach Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). On the opening session, the 1st panel discussion featured speakers Rafiuddin Palinrungi, Program Officer of Ford Foundation who presented the sustainability in partnership, followed by Andrie Darusman, Daya Head PT. Bank Tabungan Pensiun Nasional (Tbk) with multi-stakeholders collaboration on the partnership; and Yohanes Bewahan, Community Economic Development Manager PT Freeport Indonesia on negotiation in partnership. The panel discussion was moderated by Kemal Soeriawidjaja from CCPHI.
One interesting question was raised by a participant about “equal partnership”, of which all three panelists had different responses based on their experiences. Freeport has never experienced any single cost sharing partnership since it has always been the funds provider. For BTPN, an equal partnership is a non-commercialized program, in which both parties’ vision and mission are aligned. For Ford Foundation, it is called an equal partnership when both parties are open and mutually trustworthy. At the end of the session, the three speakers agreed that the main key to sustainable organization is partnership.
Most participants were students from various departments who were interested in the issue of partnership.
The rest of the day was filled with panel discussions about various partnership case studies, and they were organized in different rooms.
