20th Health and Business Roundtable Indonesia (HBRI): “Nestlé Healthy Kids Program in Indonesia”
Company-Community Partnerships for Health in Indonesia (CCPHI) facilitated its 20th Health and Business Roundtable Indonesia (HBRI) on March 5. Nestlé Indonesia, a company that produces milk, food and beverages, together with its partner the Indonesian Nutrition Association (INA), a non-profit organization for nutrition, presented their partnership, titled “Nestlé Healthy Kids Program in Indonesia”.
Riris Sundrijo from Pacivis UI, an NGO affiliated with the University of Indonesia, moderated the meeting, which was attended by 65 participants representing 15 companies, 26 NGOs, 2 associations, and 2 academic institutions.
Nestlé Healthy Kids (NHK), is an ongoing program begun in early 2012, aims to improve nutrition, health and wellness of students age 6-12 years old through schools. The partnership was based on the understanding that elementary school-aged children is in the second golden period in the alleviation of malnutrition and health problems that are useful in shaping children into healthy adults.
After the partnership presentation, participants discussed about Creating Shared Value (CSV).* Although there was no conclusion made, participants agree that for a company to be successful in the long term and create value for its shareholders, it must also create value for society.
