The 21st HBRI - " Daya’s Health and Wellness : Empowering Senior Citizens in Health and Wellness”
Company-Community Partnerships for Health in Indonesia (CCPHI) facilitated the 21st Health and Business Roundtable Indonesia (HBRI) on Tuesday, June 4th 2013. Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional/BTPN, a national commercial bank, collaborated with The Indonesian General Practitioners Association (PDUI), a professional organization of physicians, presented their partnership titled "Daya’s Health and Wellness" which aims to improve the health of the senior citizens who are mostly BTPN’s customers (aged above 60 years).
The roundtable discussion was moderated by Riris Sundrijo of Pacivis UI, an NGO affiliated with the University of Indonesia, and was attended by 56 participants from18 companies, 17 NGOs, 1 association and 3 educational institutions.
The partnership between BTPN (www.bankbtpn.co.id) and PDUI (www.pdui.or.id) is an on-going program that has started since 2009. Both partners shared a common interest and committed to improve community's health. For BTPN, customer's health can contribute to the improvement of life expectancy and increase their productivity. PDUI views that the partnership is in line with their mission to provide high quality health care as part of the members competency's development.
After the presentation, participants discussed about program replications. Although there was no conclusion made, participants agreed that the replication is required to expand services, beneficiaries and program activities. Problems they may encounter in replicating a program include the diversity of community's culture and characteristics, readiness to collaborate with the local government, and the willingness to implement a bottom-up strategy development.
