Research & Business Forum #5: Area for Partnership Between the Private Sector & Policy Analysts in the Public Policy Making Process
Research & Business Forum #5 (FRB) was held on Tuesday, 27 November 2018 with the topic “Area for Partnership Between the Private Sector & Policy Analysts in the Public Policy Making Process” at the office of Knowledge Sector Initiative (KSI), Ratu Plaza Office Building. FRB#5 presenting speakers from National Institute of Public Administration (LAN) as one of many components in the policy making in Indonesia, Indonesia Business Links (IBL) and Eurocham Indonesia as industry representative.
FRB# 5 discussed the experience of the National Institute of Public Administration (LAN) in the context of the roles and tasks of policy analysts in Indonesia, delivered by Erna Irawati as Head of the Center for Policy Analyst Development, (LAN). FRB also discussed the importance of the agenda setting and policy cycle in the private sector, delivered by Basrie Kamba as a representative of the Board of Management, Indonesia Business Links (IBL). While Eka Wahyuni, who is currently the Senior Advocacy Manager of Eurocham Indonesia, discussed the role of associations in public policy making.
This Forum concludes that participation of policy analyst, government and business actors as well as associations is deemed very important in the process of planning, implementing and evaluating policies. For this reason, the process of building trust and communication through partnerships is an important milestone in achieving effective and essential cooperation.
FRB #5 was attended by 30 participants including from public sector (including company, philanthropy and media) and research agencies. Marendra Cahya Sadikin, Partnership Building Specialist CCPHI moderated the discussion.
