Research & Business Forum #4: Talkshow on The Role of Research Institutions and Industrial World in Promoting Evidence-Based Public Policy
The Research and Business Forum (FRB) #4 was held on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, with the topic: "The Role of Research Institution and the Industrial World in Promoting Evidence-Based Public Policy". The discussion took place at Knowledge Sector Initiative (KSI) office, Ratu Plaza office building, 9th floor, Jakarta. FRB #4 presents speakers from the Presidential Staff Office of Republic of Indonesia, KSI, and government relations practitioner.
With the theme of FRB #4, Gautama Adi Kusuma, Special Staff Assistant to the President of Republic of Indonesia. shared the process of public-policy making and the opportunities towards cooperation with research institutions and the industrial world. In this talkshow, Budiati Prasetiamartati, KSI's Lead Policy Innovation and Development Program also discussed the performance and role of policy research institutions . Arief Budiman, a Government Relations Practitioner then discussed the general role of the industrial world in public policy.
This Forum concluded that the participation of research institutions, government and business actors is very essential during the process of drafting, implementing and evaluating the evidence-based policies. For that particular reason, the process of building trust and communication with relevant parties and layers is deemed as very important to achieve maximum collaboration.
The FRB #4 was attended by 47 participants from 10 companies, 12 NGOs, 1 educational institutions, 1 association and 2 government agencies. . The discussion was moderated by Siti Ruhanawati of KIAT (Indonesia-Australia Partnership for Infrastructure).
